Bringing the “Family” Together

March 15, 2010

I spend as much time with my colleagues at work as I do with my wife and kids.  Quite simply, my co-workers are my extended family.  At City Beach, we believe that in order to build a happy, productive, and collaborative team, it is critically important that people have a chance to connect with each other outside the confines of the office.

In my 20 years working experience in many different office environments, I have observed that when one is personally connected to a co-worker’s “outside family,” it humanizes them and ultimately bonds you closer together.  In essence, we all spend enough time together at work that inevitably home life is a frequent topic of conversation.  When I kibbutz with my “extended family” about their personal lives, it helps me empathize and to have met their spouses, children, and parents.

City Beach brings everyone together in the name of food and fun at our corporate Company Picnics.  For almost 10 years in our Fremont location, we have provided companies big and small an opportunity to gather together and re-connect.  Whether on a billiards table, rock wall, Robosurfer, or over a cold beer, we are passionate about opening our home to our corporate friends.  In a way, they are a part of our extended family, too.  Let us know what we can do for you, and we’ll greet you with a warm smile, an open heart, and a day full of fun!

Don’t Be Held Captive

February 8, 2010

Is your company still being held captive by the same old retreats, tired business meetings, and company pep talks.  Listen, we have all been there, sitting in the back of the room wishing the “motivational speaker” would lose their voice while we count the hours until we get to go home.  Then the next day we recap how much “fun” we had at the last event.  We understand all that, we have watched people suffer through horrible events.  Please don’t be held hostage by horrible events, with a floundering motivational speaker.  We believe in an environment that stimulates, excites, and reenergizes staff and our events all them to enjoy that environment and return not only refreshed but more informed about those who work around. Don’t be held hostage ever again…otherwise the ransom you pay may never bring back the excitement you were looking for.

Zoll Cirulation at City Beach for the Holidays

December 7, 2009

Zoll Circulation was able to join us last weekend and we had a great party in store for them.  The night started with some cocktails as the group enjoyed our festive Palm seating area.  Presents sat on top of every table surronded by beautifully flocked trees that were accented with holiday lighting , and to top it off we even lit a virtual fire (wood free, of course).  After some introductions the Zoll group was able to participate in one of our festive holiday games, only this one left everyone guessing as to who said what. Many of the  answers even left their desk-mates confused, but it was all in good fun. Our guests stayed late, enjoyed the holiday celebration, and left with some great prizes.
